Can I use Collato for free?: Yes, absolutely. If you want to gain first-hand experience with Collato, we offer a FREE version that lets you record meetings or audio notes of up to 10 hours per month. No credit card is required. The resulting transcripts can be turned into an unlimited number of different summaries or documents. Once you reach 10 hours of monthly recordings, you may or may not upgrade to the PRO plan.

What is an “hour of recording”?: Collato starts counting time recorded if any recording is added to Collato in one of three ways: First, Collato’s “meeting assistant” joins a meeting via an email invite. Second, recording audio, such as voice notes, directly from within your Collato account. Third, a recorded audio/or video file is uploaded as a note/input source to the Collato account. In all cases, every minute of that recording is counted, no matter if the recording is later re-recorded or deleted. The time of recording is always attributed to an individual seat.

What happens if I reach my monthly recording limit?: If the 10 hours of the FREE plan (50 hours for the PRO plan) are reached throughout the month, you can easily upgrade to a higher plan to continue recording. And no worries, this is not done automatically. You get to choose whether you want to upgrade or wait for the new month when your recording limit is set back to zero. You can then record another 10 hours for the FREE plan (50 hours for the PRO plan) of meetings or audio notes. By the way, any recording still running while the limit is exceeded is not interrupted or stopped.

Can unused recording hours be rolled over to the next month?: No, any unused recording hours from one month do not roll over to the next month.

How can I upgrade my plan to PRO or BUSINESS?: Once a user reaches the monthly limit of recordings, the admin of that organization’s Collato account will get an email asking him/her to approve the upgrade to the next plan. Once approved, the recording limit will instantly jump to the limit of the next higher plan. Users can also become either PRO or BUSINESS users by invitation: Admins can invite users to either plan in the “Settings” in their admin account.

Who is the admin of my Collato account?: If you are the first user to open a Collato account, the admin is you by default. With an increasing number of users of a shared Collato company account, you can set different user roles under Settings.

How many people can I add to my organization?: You can invite as many people as you want to your organization. They will be able to try Collato out within the limits of the FREE plan.

What happens if I downgrade my plan?: Admins can revoke PRO or BUSINESS user status anytime, limiting the users to 10 hours of recording for the FREE plan (or 50 hours of recording if someone gets downgraded from BUSINESS plan to PRO plan). And no worries, all existing recordings will still be available and accessible in your Collato account.
