Metaso is a Chinese AI search engine that answers questions directly using AI, similar to Perplexity.
What is Metaso?
Metaso is an AI-powered search engine, known in Chinese as Mita AI Search, aimed at Chinese-speaking users. It works similarly to services like Perplexity, generating direct, summarized answers to questions rather than only returning a list of links for the user to click through.
The service searches the web and academic sources, cites where its information comes from, and lets users ask follow-up questions in a conversational format that builds on earlier answers. Metaso also offers tools for reading and summarizing long documents and papers, and is popular among students and researchers in China for its ad-free, distraction-free search experience compared with traditional search engines. Metaso has built a loyal following in China for its clean interface and lack of advertising within search results.
